Run the 33 km Paris loop
I started running in Rotterdam. In my friend group, I was almost the only one who didn’t run, so I ended up running as well. At first it was with my old “sporty” shoes, no idea what pace meant, and holding my phone in my hand. Good times.
Since then, things have escalated. I opened a Strava account, bought Hoka shoes, and began comparing myself to people… Now I run less often and stopped using strava, running at my own pace.
Twelve kilometres is my current record. I don’t think I will run a marathon, and I’m not sure I want to put my body through that kind of pain. The 33 km Paris loop feels fair to me, somewhere between a half marathon and a marathon, ambitious without becoming a punishment.
In September, I will run La Parisienne, a women’s race of about 10 km in Paris. It will mark the start of my preparation for the 33 km loop.
